College professor Emily Ratliffe finally has the opportunity to satisfy her long-denied wanderlust when her scholarly work is accepted for a presentation in London. Against her husband's wishes, Emily departs for England, leaving him and their fourteen-year-old daughter behind. But then the unthinkable happens. A terrorist attack involving biological warfare strikes the conference center, and the attendees and other hotel residents fall dangerously ill. Emily also gets sick, but miraculously recovers; she knows she must use her Christian faith, prayer, and perseverance to assist in healing the other victims of the attack. She enlists the help of the handsome Edward Fitzwilliam, a British special agent working undercover as the hotel manager, and the two develop a close friendship.

Watching the events unfold on the news, Emily's husband wants her to come home immediately, but she refuses, knowing that she must stay where she is needed. She must tread carefully, however, as her relationship with Edward is skirting the boundaries of friendship. What's more, she is unaware that a greater threat looms. The terrorists did not achieve their mission, and Emily is now their number one target.

Full of adventure, Sheltered by an Angel's Wings is a breathtaking tale of love, faith, and perseverance in the midst of tragedy.

Charlene's Review:

Sheltered by an Angel's Wings introduces us to Emily, a Professor, wife and mother who accepts an offer as a lecturer in London. While there, a mysterious illness affects the hotel she is staying in, and she must make a choice between returning home to safety, or heeding what she believes is God's calling, to stay and minister to the ill. Befriending the hotel's manager, Emily is faced with many challenges and temptations before she can return home to her family.

In the first section of the book, relying heavily on the words of God, Ms. Pasour writes nearly in the style of a devotion while bringing the reader a highly entertaining mystery/thriller. I don't believe I have ever read a book quite like this. I loved the detail Ms. Pasour took to weave the Bible passages into the story in a workable way that didn't detract from the story itself. What an amazing gift she has for writing to glorify God!

With a formidable 505 pages, this wasn't a one-night read, but I looked forward to it every time I cracked the spine open. Emily and Edward are highly developed, complex characters with their own stories, and the budding emotions between them are evident, but remain innocent. I applaud Ms. Pasour for an uplifting story of a woman who makes the right, albeit difficult decision, and remains faithful to her beliefs.

Having plugged the faith angle, any reader will find this book to be engaging. With terrorist activity, solid characters, and plenty of drama, this is an all-around potential best-seller.

5 out of 5 stars!
